Current and previous interns and staff discuss their experience working with ISD
“The International School of Dublin is a truly international school, welcoming families and staff from all around the world. As a teacher from Australia, I loved learning about the students’ countries and cultures, just as much as they enjoyed learning about mine and each other’s. This celebration of diversity and inclusion fosters a sense of belonging, which is reflected in the family-like feel of ISD’s Community. ISD is not only committed to promoting lifelong learning in its students, but also in its staff, providing opportunities for collaboration and professional development. As staff, we were always encouraged to reflect and share ideas on how we could best implement the principles of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. This collaborative effort ensured best practice in our classrooms, with student agency, wellbeing and authentic inquiry at the forefront. I felt so lucky to be a part of such an enthusiastic team and warm community!”
-- Ms. Chrissy McMenamin - Grade 5,6 Class Teacher - 2018-2020
“Working at ISD first as an intern and then as a classroom teacher has been so enriching both personally and professionally. I have had such a great time! All members of the community are welcoming, warm and very caring. Going to the school every day felt like a gift to me. What I liked the most about working at ISD was the freedom and space to be able to learn with my students. I could support them throughout their inquiries and together we learned, exploring multiple perspectives. The truly authentic international-minded school culture is an amazing asset. My advice: do not hesitate, come to ISD and have a tour, on your first visit you will fall in love!”
-- Mr. Pedro Perez Laplaza - Intern 2018 - Grade 3,4 Class Teacher 2018-2021
