Mairead comes from New York City, USA, and has a Master’s degree in Teaching in both Childhood and Special Education from Fordham University in New York.  She is happy to be back “home”, as she is a dual Irish/US citizen.  This is now her second time living in Dublin, having previously moved over to Dublin for a year with her family when she was younger.  Ever since then, it has been her dream to teach in Ireland, and she is really looking forward to teaching at ISD!
Mairead has worked with multiple grades throughout her teaching career, including Kindergarten, 1st grade, and a mixed 3rd/4th grade class.  She has worked in various classroom settings, including working with students with disabilities as well as gifted and talented students.  Most recently, she worked for the NYC Department of Education as a Kindergarten teacher.
She is very passionate about teaching, and works to strengthen her students problem solving skills for life both inside and outside of the classroom.  In her free time, she loves to travel, try new local coffee shops, and cook!
